This project was a huge refurbishment which was much needed in Selsdon. Some of the challenges we faced were the temporary roofs while work was commencing didn;t have any budget to fix while there so needed a solution while we were working to ensure the roof was safe and sound. So renewing the roofing areas along with keeping the water out was a huge challenge along the way.
To overcome this hurdle, we made sure we didn’t take too much of the existing roof off at a time to ensure we could weather proof the areas immediately.
The outcome of the whole project was numerous huge roofing areas consisting of pitched flat (liquid and single ply membrane) being completed with full guarantees and certifications for clients.
In the heart of Selsdon, a comprehensive refurbishment, long overdue, sought to revitalise a space that had weathered the tests of time. We go into some of the challenges faced, innovative solutions devised, and the resounding success achieved as a result.
As with any extensive renovation, the Selsdon project presented an array of challenges that demanded innovative thinking and a resolute approach. The catch-22 emerged: there was no allocated budget for immediate fixes, necessitating a creative solution to ensure both the safety of the ongoing work and the integrity of the structures.
Addressing the critical need to renew roofing areas while keeping water at bay was a paramount challenge. The solution lay in a meticulously orchestrated strategy that balanced the imperatives of safety, efficiency, and weather resistance. Rather than stripping vast sections of the existing roof all at once, we adopted a phased approach. This approach allowed us to prioritise weatherproofing as we progressed, ensuring that the exposed areas were promptly safeguarded against the elements. Through this strategic manoeuvre, we mitigated risk and maintained the project’s momentum.
The culmination of relentless efforts and innovative problem-solving yielded a huge transformation. Multiple expansive roofing areas underwent a stunning new look, consisting of pitched and flat surfaces. The implementation encompassed a fusion of cutting-edge techniques, including liquid and single ply membrane applications. These roofing methodologies, backed by rigorous quality standards, resulted in the completion of the project with the relevant guarantees and certifications that stand as a testament to our commitment to excellence.
