Pitched roofs

There are many reasons to choose a pitched roof – from their versatility, giving you the option of additional living or storage space, to their longevity and durability. They’re easy to maintain, provide reliable drainage, and help any additional building to blend more naturally into the rest of your property.

We’re NVQ-qualified in:

Roof slating

Slate is considered one of the world’s best building materials, as it can withstand the most extreme weather conditions. What’s more, natural slate is fire resistant and energy efficient. When laid properly, slate can last the lifetime of your roof. Choose slate roofing, and this could be anything up to 200 years!

Roof tiling

There are so many fantastic options available to you when it comes to roof tiling, no matter your budget and how you want your roof to look. We can help you pick from clay, concrete and other materials; select your size; and decide how they’re interlocked and fixed. Then, we can fit it all beautifully.

Cut roofs

It might seem unusual to consider our trade an art, but that’s certainly how we’d describe cut roofing.
The traditional skill involves cutting timber on-site into joists, purlins, ridge boards, boards, rafters, hangers and collars or ridge collars – then assembling the roof using these specially crafted parts. And the result? A stable, supportive roof that can be styled to your personal taste.
This is a service not offered by many, as the precise measurements and cuts involved are incredibly complex. However, we’re pleased to provide stunning, bespoke cut roofing that looks fantastic and protects the construction of your property.

With regards to covering, we offer:

Three-layer felt

This is the most economic and common form of roof covering, suitable for all kinds of roofs made from materials including timber, metal and concrete. Modern three-layer felt systems have been specifically developed for flexibility, durability and quality.

The life expectancy of three-layer felt is over 40 years. Our systems are covered by a 20 year manufacturer’s guarantee, as well as our own of workmanship guarantee so you can have complete confidence in your installation.

Single Ply

Single ply roofing has become an increasingly popular flat roof covering over the last few year.  The speed of installation makes it a cost-effective method. The systems are installed using hot-air welding techniques with mechanical fastenings or adhesive which results in a much safer, flame-free installation. As a registered Sika Sarnafil Roof Assured Contractor, all our work is completed in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines. We install Sarnafil roofing membranes in a range of colours and finishes and can be installed with or without insulation to suit the budget requirements of our client.

Flat roofs

Flat roofing is becoming more and more desirable. While in the past it was primarily seen simply as a great option for garages and extensions, today people are installing them to create eco-friendly green roofs or additional outdoor living space.

Leadwork

If you want a roof with a traditional and precise look and feel, while being kind to the planet, it’s worth considering lead. Lead is flexible, durable and won’t corrode – plus it’s recyclable and has an impressively low carbon footprint.

There are several types of lead roofing available, including milled, sand cast and machine cast, so there’s bound to be an option that’s perfect for your home or commercial property.

Fascias, soffits and guttering

Whether your fascias, soffits and guttering need replacing or capping due to water damage and rotting, or you’re looking for a brand new solution for your property, we can help.

We’ll diagnose any potential problems you may be facing, quote fairly and accurately for your drainage, and then install quickly and efficiently. Your finished work will look smart and stand the test of time.

As well as conducting these inspections, we provide:

Repairs

If your chimney is starting to become an eyesore, or you’re no longer able to use it due to damage, we can help you to discover the exact problem and remedy it – quickly, safely and with minimal disruption.

Repointing

You can extend the life of your chimney, keep it looking beautiful, make sure your roof stays waterproof and safeguard your home by having it repointed regularly. Plus, you’ll save money in the long term, as you shouldn’t need to spend on repairs or replacement.

Flaunching

One particularly vulnerable part of your chimney is the mortar, or flaunching. If this isn’t maintained, cracks can appear, allowing water to penetrate and weaken the bonding of the chimney pot. We can prevent this from happening, or replace flaunching if necessary.

Chimney work

When was the last time you had your chimney checked? Believe it or not, it’s advisable to have this done annually. This is because pieces can weather and break, leading to major deterioration if left unrepaired.

Roof lights and sky lights

Adding a roof light or skylight is an easy, affordable way to bring more natural light and fresh air to a room – without overlooking your neighbours! There are so many possible solutions available today, many with double glazing or an easy-to-open design.

Whichever you choose, it’s vital that your new roof window, skylight, dome or sun tunnel is installed correctly and precisely to guarantee it’ll be waterproof, durable and effective. We can advise on the options that will be best for your building, and then make sure tit’s fitted to the highest standard.

Moss removal

When roofs age and weather, the original top layer that used to protect them becomes porous, creating the ideal environment for moss to grow and thrive.

Moss build-up isn’t just unsightly on your roof – it can also lead to blocked gutters and drains, so it’s important to get cleared as soon as possible.

We can not only remove moss, but also apply a sealant or preventative treatment to your roof so it won’t come back.

Liquid-applied encapsulation

What is it?

Encapsulation is the fast, simple and cost-effective process of installing a cold-applied liquid waterproofing system onto your roof. It seals the fibre cement panels on the outside or inside, depending on the application. We do this in one single, seamless membrane of uniform thickness for the best possible finish.

The innovative process offers a fantastic way to rejuvenate old roofs, extending their lifespan without interruption.

What are its benefits?

There are plenty of reasons you should consider encapsulation:

Safety meets ease

Not only is liquid-applied roofing quick, easy and therefore affordable to apply, it can also be installed without the need for heat or a naked flame, mitigating health and safety risks. Plus, the spray-on solution is fire retardant, offering extra protection in commercial and industrial environments.

Disruption? What disruption?

There’s no need to shut up shop while we work on your roof. Encapsulation causes minimal disruption to you and your business, with membranes fitting over existing roof coverings so we won’t need to remove these. Even if you operate a sensitive site – like a hospital, food-manufacturing plant or school – low-odour options are available.

Flexible, durable, versatile

The coating applied during encapsulation is UV- and moss-resistant; extremely tough; and flexible enough for application onto large areas as well as smaller seams and joints. So, whatever the nature of your roof, it’ll look and feel newer and fresher for longer.

Available whatever the weather

Here’s some good news: encapsulation can be completed during damp weather. That means come rain or shine, we’ll still be able to attend your site, removing the risk of inconvenient reschedules.

Where does it work best?

Liquid-applied roofs are suitable for a wide array of structures and substrates, including old and leaking surfaces. Membranes are available in many colours, so your roof can look as smart as its protection.

We can also provide cold-applied built-up roof systems, including insulation, helping you to meet Part L regulations.
